1. picking a name is the freaking worst!
I probably went through 1,000 different domain names, and everything is taken.... including my own name. And even though I asked nicely, the Lucas Lee who owns the ".com" wouldn't sell me his domain. I don't suggest going to his site though since there isn't actually anything on it. It really is quite unfortunate especially since he's been hanging on to it for 15 years without actually putting content on it. Thankfully the ".me" domain was free, so that's what you're looking at now.
2. Learning to code
Actually a pretty fun and easy thing to do. I used Code Academy which I would really suggest you all do if you're trying to do cool things with your life. It's a free site that just wants to teach more people how to code. In all honesty, you might as well learn how to do it so you can at least read HTML or Java.
3. Populating the site
Harder than it looks. There's a good chunk of things that you need to have to actually get started. I'm going to write another blog post later documenting my suggested steps on how to gets started with your own site.
This is going to be it for me... for now. I'l try to have a new blog post every Sunday. I hope you enjoy this site, and please give me feedback or suggestions on the contact page if you think I can improve the site in any way.
